The Mountains are Calling and I Must Go

Boy do I understand that quote now! My husband and I took a road trip to Lake Placid NY for our anniversary, deep in the Adirondacks. We went to the top of Whiteface mountain (by gondola) and being at the top was indescribable. The air was most definitely colder and windier, but so crisp and fresh. I just kept breathing it in. Sitting there in awe of it, feeling so small. Hearing birds I never heard before, and watching the shadows of the clouds pass by on the peaks. It was pretty incredible.

We also drove around, did some hiking, and stopped at every pull off that had great views. There were a couple in particular that were mind-blowing. Standing there next to these gigantic mountains. I can not put it into words. If you have the chance to go on top of or next to some high peak mountains, DO IT!! I missed the mountains the second we started driving home. I can not wait to go back!! I will be coming back to add some of my photos to this blog. Just cell phone shots mostly, but it’s impossible to take bad pictures of things so beautiful no matter what your camera is!!
